Title: gardening help forums?
Post by: Sibley on October 16, 2017, 11:59:36 AM
Are there forums for gardening help? Some people here told me about the John Bridges forum for tile, which has been really helpful. I could really use one for gardening though.

PTF but also to say I really want to garden, but my gardens always turn out awful or I end not using what I grow and it goes bad, so I gave up...

I keep saying to my husband that I need someone to design an app that will help me with my gardening skills:  In a perfect world the app would let me input what I would like to eat (i.e. zucchini, tomatoes, etc) each week during growing season and also input how much I would to can and preserve for winter use.  Then the app will tell me when to plant and how many plants to plant...then any other useful tidbits about what plants are good companions to the plants I selected, other things I should try, etc. Then the app would tell me/remind me when to harvest (maybe with pictures...lol) and finally recipes and ideas about what to make with harvested items, what items to can, etc.

Well...a girl can dream :)

Try your county's Master Gardeners
http://web.extension.illinois.edu/units/survey.cfm?sID=775&UnitID=467

I have used our local Master Gardeners a few times, they respond fast and know things. will this grow here? what is this on my rose bush? They know. Great resources.
