Title: From management to individual contributor
Post by: oldtoyota on September 08, 2017, 02:30:56 PM
Hello,

I work in marketing. Used to be a manager with the associated stress, long hours, and politics.

I'd love to move back to being an individual contributor.

The problem is my resume looks like a manager's resume.

Some ideas I have:

--Mention in resume and cover letter that I'm seeking an individual contributor role.
--Network, of course.
--Cold pitch the right people in companies where I want to work. This has worked for me before.

I'm thinking the route of filling in a form on a company website isn't going to cut it this time around.

What else should I be considering when it comes to the resume/interview when I'm planning to move from manager to non-manager?
