Free Phone plan from Freedom Pop??
« on: May 28, 2016, 12:01:04 PM »
So FP is advertising a 500 min and 500 text plan per month for your unlocked GSM phone for Free!!!

There HAS to be a catch but I can't see it..

Anyone shed any light on this?

Have a read of section 3.

If that doesn't bother you, then go ahead. :)

Don't forget sections 1, 4, 5 and 6... or basically 4/5ths of the entire Privacy Policy. ;)

...plus their slippery billing methods. I've heard some draw comparisons between account billing setups with FreedomPop as being similar to trying to buy a domain on GoDaddy.

Also, support. Or lack there-of.

The catch is always in the fine print, and in this company's situation specifically - the limited availability of their SIM cards, and everything else mentioned above.

Catch is the service is meh, and the customer service is terrible.

The benefit is, it's free.

The wife used it for years, and it was great.  Were we in the States, we'd probably still be using it.  Alas, we need an international plan now.

Hard to beat $0/mo.
