Hello Mustachians, I am helping my neighbor come up with ideas for designing her bedroom. She uses the software 5d but it doesn't let you pick colors which is what she needs help with. Any suggestions for a free software that lets you pick colors (like for the walls, curtains etc)? I've used google sketchup before but I didn't see a way to pick colors.

As with alot of open source software, there might be other plugins available from other websites.

If you search for 'how to add custom textures to Sketchup' you will find some easy lessons. You can add not just colors, but obviously tile, brick, stone, etc. Sketchup takes some practice but is easy to get the hang of it with some dedicated time. The 'paint bucket' is the tool used to add colors/ textures in SU.
