Maybe once a week, and then only to someplace like Chik Fil A, Moes, or the local diner, so pretty cheap stuff. We used to go out more, but frankly just got tired of the noise, so-so food, and bad service at most places.

Thanks for the advice!  I just made a dozen hard boiled eggs.  I'm going to cut a few pieces of cheese off my 2 pound block.

Mmm hard boiled eggs... I think I know what's for dinner tonight.

I know. I think I'm going to make deviled ones, though.

We are averaging about once every 6-8 weeks.  And by "going out", I mean spending $13 at our local pizzeria for carry out :)

Every day, 3 times a day.

Kind of a weird situation where my company expenses 3 meals a day for me, but not just groceries for the week? It actually gets very old and probably unhealthy, but being frugal as shit, I obviously take the 3 free meals a day versus buying food with my own money.

This is my one splurge my wife and I go out usually once or twice a week. Nothing super expensive usually around $20-30 range beside this we are really good savers for everything else so I don't mind it.

Nothing fancy, but I go out for lunch everyday, which typically averages around $2-3 per meal and typically 2 times with family on the weekend that averages 20-30 per meal.

I accept this will cost me $56k over a 10 year period.

Lunch 1-2 times per week. Dinner 1-2 nights per week.

I have to get that "1-2" down to a simple "1" and then lower from there... but this is a huge step forward for me. I used to eat nearly every single meal out. What a difference a year makes.

Maybe once or twice a month for an actual meal, and about once a week for coffee and a pastry or something light in the morning. I try to avoid full service sit down places on a regular basis, which really helps my wallet out. The biggest shift for me was to have a small supply of easy meals for when I got home, that way if I was out, I could have a small snack that I usually carried, and that would tide me over until I got home. It's a bit of a change in perspective, but getting rid of the thought of 'I need food right NOW' has helped immensely. Granted, there's still times I need some food right then and there, but it's few and far between on most days.

Lunch:
* 5 days/week at the staff canteen US$1.79 x 5 = 8.95/week (used to bring my own but the canteen offers more variety of protein/veggies/western food for a similar price to meals I cook at home)

Dinner:
* With DH, 2-4x/month: ~US$30
* With friends/colleagues: 1-2x/month, ~$30-50
* Dumplings/noodles picked up between the dayjob & side gigs: ~$20

Breakfast:
* Several times/month at work, fresh coffee and French pastries for a fraction of what they cost in local shops: ~$15

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
