Flea and heart worm medication for dog?

Where is a good place to get flea and heart worm prevention medication from? I have a 55 pound dog and finally decided to actually shop around instead of getting it directly from the vet. We've always used Trifexis in the past because that's what the vet said would be good, I have no idea if we should stick with that or check out other brands.

For flea drops, I just go to WalMart. For the monthly heartworm, my vet made it difficult to get the prescription from them, but I did get it and bought generic from 1-800 pet meds using their online store.

I have cats, but get the flea stuff online from reputable websites. I shop around when I need to buy and find the best price. However, this isn't prescription.
