How do you figure your net worth?
« on: November 29, 2014, 05:08:55 AM »
Greetings, Everyone!

I'm new to the forum and to MMM. So I'm wondering how people define their net worth here. In our case, we have no debt other than our mortgage and we have some cash in savings and investments. Because the mortgage principal is more than the savings and investments, I see this as negative net worth, but of course it doesn't include any saleable assets (the condo, the car, etc.).

Do you just ignore non-cash assets when making this calculation or do you estimate them?

Thanks in advance!
Zarya

Well, I see I made the noob mistake of not searching for my own question first:

But I'll leave this here for others with the same question (or who want to chime in with other thoughts!).
