FDIC worries
« on: March 01, 2025, 12:11:26 PM »
I’m seeing more and more of this.  Anyone else seeing this or getting concerned?

Yeah, it's bad. Just more proof that the random actions Musk is taking have no basis in actually improving anything. The FDIC employees don't get paid from tax money. And I don't think the DOGE goofballs know that or even care.

They are screwing around with things that are vital to the economy's continued functioning and they have no idea.

It's concerning, to be sure. Musk and Trump don't care what damage they do or who suffers because of it. They want to cause chaos and wreck the federal government; that's not incompetence, that's the goal.

Unfortunately, there's very little that an ordinary person can do about it. The best way to protect yourself is to stay invested and not keep large amounts of money sitting in cash. But you shouldn't be doing that anyway.

Some actions don't make sense unless one accepts that creating economic destruction is the goal.

Unrelated note: An environment of high inflation, high unemployment, and failing banks was how the Nazis came to power in Weimar Germany.

You dumbasses just don't understand Musk's genius.  It's the FDIC.  That has both a 'D' AND an 'I' in it.  And what's the letter 'F' but a sneaky 'E'?  By now you should all know the horrors of DEI, right?  Wake up sheeple!

It's a Fequity, Diversity, and Inclusion Catastrophe!

In all seriousness, though... Yes, it is concerning. I have a sizeable chunk of cash put aside in Money Market for a potential house purchase this summer. If that purchase falls through, I'll consider carefully what to do with that money. You might get better responses to this in https://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/investor-alley/
