Buying ivf fertility drugs from canada
« on: December 24, 2015, 06:33:56 AM »
Ivf drugs costs so much in US. I searched the online canadian websites, but all of them gets most of their medicine from overseas (UK, Turkey, india). I am worried about the quality of the medicine from those countries and very long shipping time. These drugs usually very temperature sensitive so i am worried about having spoiled medicine due to long shipping time. Also, there are possible issues and delays at the custom office. I also read quite a bit on these online web companies being sued by FDA for shipping counterfeit medicine.

Is there a legitimate canadian company that sells only canada made medicine with short shipping time? I searched for hours, but could not find any. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm not sure "drugs that mess with your reproductive system" is the place to save.

I'm not in the states, and fill my prescriptions in person.... But would it be worth visiting our beautiful country and visiting our pharmacies? You could call the pharmacies in your destination and speak to the pharmacist in advance.

Savings would be about 3 months of mortgage payments in my case. It is pretty substantial to say the least.

I seriously doubt that ALL Canadian pharmacies sell counterfiet drugs and those from the UK I know will be solid. Even though us Brits have an evil socialist HC system (so my Republican friends tell me!) their drugs are heavily regulated and they won't buy crap.

I'm sure like any "entraprenuerial" enterprise there are fakers out there these must be few in number by the very nature of the business they are in and the large number of people who take drugs, i.e the likelyhood of detection of fake meds is very high.

Wait.. You mean the FDA have our best interests at heart? i thought they all about making sure nobody competes with American drug makers!

But seriously if you find a well recomended pharmacy I suspect you'll be getting the genuine and well handled article.

I live in Germany and ordered fertility drugs for my egg-freezing cycle in France with no problems. Some pharmacies close to the border are specialized selling and shpping to Germans. There are safe methods to keep it cool for the duration of an express delivery (make sure to be at home on the specified day!).

Furthermore: Not everything is as sensitive as the manufacturers legally need to claim it is. E.g. an unopened pen of Gonal F would be fine outside of a fridge on a winter day. A difference of a few degrees only starts to matter once it has been used for the first time. And even then: A lot of women take a little while to administer their first shot(s). If all those cycles would be screwed because a warm, nervous hand clenched the pen a few minutes (or half an hour) to long...

Other drugs are not shipped in liquid form but as a vial of powder and a seperate vial of aseptic water. There (I understand) temperature difference matters a lot less than for the liquids.

I recommend consulting with the users of dedicated forums online. The tips you get there are a lot more practical than the extra-cautious advise in the fine print on the package leaflet.

Do some Google searches on the correct logo to look for in an online Canadian pharmacy. If you see that logo the site will be legit. I'd be more concerned with the fake pharmacies stealing my money than sending me bad products.

The ones that don't require a prescription aren't legit. The legit ones require a prescription faxed to them. I've bought from Canada and had no problems. The only weird thing was they required a bank draft (couldn't accept credit cards) but they didn't steal from me.
