Expired probiotic drops still OK to use?
« on: November 14, 2019, 12:39:02 PM »
Hey all,

Curious to know, for any of you who have used or use probiotics for kids (Culturelle, Mommy's Bliss, etc), your thoughts on using expired probiotics. I have an unopened bottle of Mommy's Bliss probiotic drops (kept in the box out of sunlight and heat) that expired 1/19. I'm wondering if these are pretty much just like vitamins/medicines where you can still take them past the expired date but they just aren't as potent. Just wanted to make sure it's not *dangerous* to give expired probiotics though.

My guess is that it would just lose potency. I have never heard of anyone becoming ill from them. I would be more careful with a young child though.

They are probably just as good once they’ve expired as they ever were.
