Title: Experiences with Firefly Car Rental and/or Payless Car Rental
Post by: frugaliknowit on March 13, 2015, 09:20:58 AM
Hi Mustachians,

I'm feeling a bit queasy about trying Firefly Car Rental out of Denver Airport.  Anyone tried them?  The reviews are terrible, but I believe folks who write reviews about car rentals are generally pissed.  I have a reservation with both Firefly and Payless with a $5 per day difference.  I don't remember using Payless either, but at least they are used by agents.

I used Payless in Fort Lauderdale - once - and would never use them again. If there are terrible online reviews I would not use Firefly - because I would not want to put up w/ a bunch of problems while traveling in order to save $5. I have had a few bad car rental experiences, always from "off brand" places and they have, at best, cost me several hours out my trip and huge amounts of aggravation.

I used Firefly once on a trip to Salt Lake City.

The rental office was off-site, but they had a free shuttle that was pretty quick. The Camry I rented was clean and nice to drive. Lovely people at the counter. I had no issues at all, and would happily rent from them again.
