ETF in a Roth
« on: January 11, 2015, 08:52:18 PM »
Hi Folks,

Quick question. I want to buy a little bit of VDE for my Roth IRA, which currently consists of 100% VTSAX. It won't let me buy the ETF. What am I doing wrong?

What is "it" that won't let you do this?

The Vanguard website.

Do you have an account at Vanguard?

One I have shows as "John Doe—Traditional IRA Brokerage Account—12345678" (of course with different name and account number).

If you think you have the appropriate account, calling Vanguard is probably the best approach.  If you don't have what you need - a Vanguard Brokerage Services® account - then applying for one seems best....

Yeah, I mean I have an entire Roth account with Vanguard. I'll give them a call tomorrow.
