I've known two people who have done these bootcamps. One never landed a job in the industry, and the other was hired straight from the bootcamp into a development position at Amazon. Clearly these can work to help you switch careers, but they can also not work. Do your research about the organization you choose to study with, and have a backup plan if it doesn't work out.

How willing are you to move away from Toronto? From where I sit, CA$50k is a laughably low salary for a junior software developer. Heck, I was offered US$65k to work in Minnesota fresh out of college over a decade ago, and then two years later when I moved to Seattle the starting compensation for new grads at my employer was US$85k + bonus + RSUs. The pay scales have increased since then. If CA$50-60k is really what new developers earn in Toronto, you would do well to consider a move.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
