Hey all, Zenni optical offers these prescription sunglasses where they're a wraparound sun thing over top of a prescription - like this:  https://ca.zennioptical.com/p/halfrim-other-plastic-eyeglass-frames/7086?skuId=708621.  Anyone have experience with this type of glasses?

Given that my eyesight is really terrible (in the -9 range with some astigmatism), and that I can't wear contact lenses I need sunglasses for cycling.  Originally I stayed away from the glasses in glasses type because of fears of fragility/difficulty cleaning/and potential issues with fogging.  I've been using some tinted prescription glasses for the last few years and they do OK, but I'd really like a little bit more wind/dust shielding than they offer as the fit is rather flat and there's always stuff getting in around the edges.

Thoughts or experience?

Try looking up part #742823.  They're in the goggle category, but are kinda like sports glasses and can be ordered with tinted/polarized lenses.  I bought a pair because I wanted something like safety glasses when I have big chips of stuff flying at my face.

These ones - https://ca.zennioptical.com/p/prescription-sport-goggles/7428?skuId=742823?  They look along the lines of what I want.  Some concerns about the transparent frames letting light through in bright sun and causing weird glare problems from light angling through them - do you have any issues with that?

Yes, those are what I have.  After sending the message and went and tried them on again and remembered why I don't actually wear them very much.  The frame is very bulky and the rubber nosepiece is huge.  Its definitely made for serious impact.  For what I use them for and the amount of time they're on my face, that's not a big deal, but after putting them on again, I don't think I'd want to wear them cycling.  The strap is pretty useful for making sure they stay in place though.

As for the optics, I don't wear them in the sun much.  Mine are just clear lenses.

Their warranty sucks. Eyebuydirect.com has a year warranty

Unfortunately, according to their website Eyebuydirect.com doesn't sell glasses to people with my prescription.  They seem to do minor corrective stuff only.
