Hey folks --

I'm trying to help my mom with some kind of financial education. She's 65, nearing traditional retirement age, but she's not much of a mustachian. She's drawing a pension from a previous job and she works at a high income job now. She has some 401(k) savings and a paid-off house, but not anything like a serious nest egg, I think. (Trying to learn what I can about her situation, but it's a little dicey.)

She wants some help, but she's mostly open to learning about how to invest than about cutting her (expensive) lifestyle. How to put her accounts in order for the rest of her life, that kind of thing.

Any books, blogs, or other resources you can recommend? I'm going to point her toward the Four Pillars of Investing and Random Walk Down Wall Street. Some gentle mustachian nudges would be fine, but nothing with frugality as its core message.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
