Edmunds.com "True Cost to Own"

Has anyone run their own numbers against Edmunds' "True Cost to Own" numbers for used vehicles?  Their numbers for Fuel, Depreciation, Repairs, etc. seem plausible at first glance, but I know there are MMMers who keep records for these types of things and I'm curious how accurate Edmunds' numbers are.

Just looked at it out of curiousity.  It's useless: doesn't even have either of my vehicles ('00 Honda Insight and '88 Toyota pickup) in it.  For the nearest equivalent pickup, it only goes back to 2008, same with Honda Civic and a couple of others I tried.  If you're a real Mustachian, you aren't going to be buying vehicles that new.

You can find older models, but for some reason you have to do a web search because they are "hidden" and don't come up in the Edmunds search options.

In my experience the numbers are conservative.   In other words, I spent far less in my first 5 years than predicted.

That said, I think it's very useful when comparing cars.
