Hi everyone,
My husband and I own a small business/consulting firm incorporated in the State of CA. We have never had liability insurance because 1) we are incorporated so liability is with the company; 2) we typically do all of our work at the business location of the client or a facility, which would have their own policies to cover their people/customers we interact with; 3) all employees are owners (e.g. we don't have a bunch of random idiots working for us that we have to worry about or cover).
We have a new international client that is insisting on us having a liability insurance policy. This is purely to check a box in their accounting system to get us qualified as a vendor. So how do we find the cheapest liability insurance possible? I tried calling my insurance agent and he doesn't do liability. The one my husband found is estimating 1-2k per year (yikes!). Is this normal?
Can anyone share any recommendations? I mean, we now have a rental property so if anything I would be interested in getting it for that, but for a company that is incorporated and has been for over 11 years just seems like a massive waste of money! I want to check this box as cheaply as possible.
THANKS!
