So i'm thinking of making a sunshade for my deck.
I was thinking of using PVC for the structure 1.5" and then putting a Tarp or something else over it. I would remove the sturcture and tarp in the winter to allow sun to warm the house.
This would serve 2 purposes.
1. make the deck cooler in the summer
2. block sunlight from warming the house.
Has anyone done anything like this?
Some pictures of our house and deck
Yes its a mcmansion ... no we arent moving.

I did find this.
https://www.amazon.com/Talentstar-Square-Apontus-Shade-Sail/dp/B003OXI9BC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1487700698&sr=8-5&keywords=retractable+awning
This looks promising.

so that is likely what i will do ... now the trick will be attaching poles to my deck to support the corners of the shade. house side is obviously easy. just a ring hook ....
upper windows i'll get some shades made that are permanent for the summer as those blinds never get opened.
