Maximizing chase sapphire bonuses
« on: July 10, 2014, 09:30:42 PM »
Hi all! I am new to the forum but have been a lurker for quite some time now.

I tried to search the archives but didn't find what I was looking for, if this has already been covered I apologize.

My question is whether I my wife and I can each get a chase sapphire preferred card (to get the 40,000 point sign up bonus for each of us), then both get the extra 5000 bonus points for adding each other as authorized users, or if we would need to add somebody who doesn't have a card of their own? We would probably stagger the cards (I get one and add her as an authorized user, we jointly spend $3000 in the first 3 months then switch and do it again with her getting the card and me being an authorized user) as we don't spend all that much usually.

Yes, you can sign up for the card and add her as an authorized user and get the 5k bonus on that card, and then have her sign up for the card and add you as an authorized user, and get that bonus.  Total of 90k + whatever you spend in points.
