My girlfriend's sister is currently staying with us. She just got home a few weeks back after eight months in Australia, but now she's back and out of cash. Oh, and she just had a giant 22lb ovarian cyst removed two weeks ago, the staples removed on Monday, and can't stand for too long or walk very much right now while things are healing. Prior to this she was healthy.
Medicaid (expanded in IL) will cover her bills for the surgery (lost her dad's health insurance a few months ago when she turned 26, happy birthday!), but even apart from that she's pretty broke right now (and has a small three-figure amount floating on a 0% credit card). Her other expenses right now are low but not non-existent. So she needs work of some sort during her recovery.
Anyone have any job ideas for someone in her shoes? She was originally thinking of more of a "real" job but her incision started opening a little the other day from walking too much and being too active (taking her recovery a little too in-stride).
In the past she's worked retail jobs like Petsmart, and drove for Dominos for a few years. Ideal would be something in the work-from-home department, or something otherwise pretty stationary. She also isn't allowed to lift anything over 10lb right now. She's very tech-savvy, and good on the phone (mostly fits your typical "hot gamer girl" trope). Part-time is probably best for her right now, too.
Ideas we've brainstormed since last night (not all researched thoroughly):
Uber (she can drive right now, but it might be too much)
Night auditor at hotel / hotel receptionist
Senior home receptionist
Remote call center
A few "NSFW" work-from-home ideas
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
