Ok, so I know there are multiple threads on this topic but it seems like very few have addressed the issue of the internet when cutting cable. I currently have Optimum and pay approx. $120/month for cable. Yes, a little piece of me dies every time I pay that bill. I've read all about Sling TV which seems like a great option, however, I have some questions.
1. What do you cable-cutting folks do about internet access? I'm sure Optimum would tell me that internet only would be as much as the triple-play I have now. What other options should I research?
2. With Sling TV, I need to front the cost for a Roku or Amazon Fire player, correct? I assume I need one for both the TV in my living room and the one in my bedroom?
3. I am an avid English Premier League futbol (soccer to most) watcher. Most of the games are on NBCSN. Anyone have any idea how I can access these games if I cut cable? (This is the primary reason I have yet to cut the cable cord.)

2) Yes, you'll need a networked internet device such as a Roku, FireTV, or generic Android HTPC device for each idiot box you want to use Sling TV with.
3) You've pretty well tagged the only legal path in the US on this outside of a footie-friendly bar or a friend, which can get expensive itself. There's gray areas, but again... they're legally gray. No offense implied, but I'm stripping this argument down to its bone for the sake of rational consideration. I'd personally rather do without than risk legal or financial repercussions from paying good money to some shady character on the internet just to watch grown men play with balls. It's a habit you're going to have to financially justify, and it's a hedonic issue at that. If you can't justify the cable bill for the habit, then I guess that's your answer.
