Should I have someone look at my 6 year old AC unit?
« on: May 18, 2015, 09:29:19 AM »
I bought a brand new home 6 years ago. The AC unit continues to work flawlessly, and I haven't done any maintenance on it at all. Should I have someone look at it to make sure it's in tip top shape, or just wait until it has a problem?

Sincerely,
a young homeowner

I would keep track of your power bill and compare summers.  That's where you'll see the unit beginning to fail before it does.  I'd also make sure you change your air filter (helps heat and AC) as that puts the biggest strain on your units and your health.
