Excess baggage to New Zealand from U.S.
« on: May 20, 2014, 11:00:13 AM »
Last post garnered some great help, so here goes again!  I am moving to New Zealand and have already successfully shipped a 20' container with household goods.  However, I have some things left and too many clothes that I failed to ship, and I will have several excess bags that I need to send or find an alternative.  I am finding that to countries like the PI or China or Latin America there are consolidators who make baggage and box shipping affordable.  However, shipping to New Zealand from the U.S. is much more expensive.  FedEx and UPS and such are expensive, as are the excess baggage companies.  I can pay for an extra two bags affordably with Air New Zealand, but am afraid I will have a bit more.  Does anyone know of a reasonably priced shipper or consolidator for a couple of 50 LB boxes and/or duffle bags?  Thanks for any ideas, JD

You could try asking the airline that you are flying on if they have a cargo service.  For example, I know American Airlines has a cargo service.

Honestly, leave it / sell it.  Buy new stuff there.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
