Cheaper version of a Lovesac Beanbag chair?
« on: January 09, 2019, 02:36:27 PM »
I recently visited a super spendy pants friend and had a chance to use what amounts to a giant, plush, surprisingly comfortable bean bag chair, called a Lovesac: https://www.lovesac.com/search/sacs/bean-bag-chairs (not the best name choice, me thinks).

I have like zero furniture and I'd love to get one of these, but I'm not paying a grand for one. On the other hand, most bean bag chairs I've used have generally sucked and would not be worth the purchase for me.

Anyone know if there is a cheaper knock off of these that retains most of its advantages over actual beanbag chairs?

I don't, but if I wanted one of those, I'd buy or sew an empty beanbag cover (lots of patterns, or beanbag covers for sale under $30 on the internet, or you could score one through Freecycle or Buy Nothing.) Then, you can find an online seller for the shredded foam. I've had good success buying foam for DIY upholstery through Foamorder.

I'm not sure what the equivalent of "Durafoam" is, but how different from regular foam can it be?
