CC approval tips?
« on: July 01, 2021, 10:06:48 AM »
I successfully signed up for 5 credit cards from Feb-April of 2019 and made several thousand off sign up bonuses.

I did one card in June 2020. Now I cant get approved for a cash back card. Should I just be waiting longer?

-815 credit score
-No collections
-Only 1-2 hard inquiries on my credit report

Lacks sufficient information for a meaningful answer, but waiting longer is probably not the answer.

If you signed up for a card (or two) with Bank X in 2019 and haven't used the card since and want another card from them for the signup bonus, expect them to reject it.  You need to use the other cards from that company so they make some $ from swipe fees.

If the new company is one of the tougher ones to get a card from, your history may be insufficient.  e.g. Is your credit history 3 years or 25?

If the cards are all from the same company, you may have hit their internal limit on # of cards or total credit limit.

There are a ton more questions that go into evaluating the situation; https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/ is probably the better place for people to really turn the screws on what you've done (or not done) that you need to think about.
