Cash is King --- do i lessen my 401k contributions?
« on: September 29, 2015, 01:23:23 PM »
Since stocks are tanking, would it be better to save more in cash accounts by lowering my 401k contribution to company match and stashing everything else in taxable accounts? Or am
I misinterpreting the article ??? http://money.cnn.com/2015/09/29/investing/cash-is-king-over-stocks-bonds/index.html?sr=fbmoney092915cashking145story

I'm not going to read the article, but stocks are discounted right now and you should buy as many as you can, buying them in a traditional 401k allows you to buy more than in a taxable account.

It's also shitty advice. Unless you're pulling the trigger on a FIRE attempt tomorrow you shouldn't worry about a crash today. Your investing timeline is much longer than today or tomorrow. Invest away and go do more important things with your life.

WWWBD? = What Would Warren Buffet Do?

1. He'd not be reading CNN clickbait.
2. He'd look at future trends aka (people will always eat sugar to consider buying COKE stock, etc).
3. He'd buy low and hold a long time.
