So, I heard about this before and did not really believe it...

I now use my urine ( a few times a day) to fertilize my plants.
Did a trial test for about 10 days on the same type of plants/same location.
One group with water and one group with watered down urine.

The ones with the urine notably flourished more.

After I wash dishes by hand, yes, I HATE my dishwasher, I pour dishwater on my gardenia bushes and so far so good after about three months.

Any ideas to share?

Here in the backwards, hick infested midwest, we pee in the yard and save on flushing the toilets.
I get chewed out by the wife for this at least once a week.

I'm building a sawdust toilet, will save on running the well pump for water to flush, plus save on compost costs (a couple of years down the road).  Next  time we move or build a new place, it'll save a bundle on not needing a septic system.  :-)

Okay, this was way more hardcore than I expected! Kudos to you guys. I don't have anything to contribute, but I have read one that fits here! A blogger empties her menstrual cup and soaks her cloth pads in a watering can, then waters her plants. Also, I suppose family cloth would fall under this category. I don't do that one either though.

More hardcore things:
Reusable feminine hygiene pads. Experimented with family cloth (for #1 only) but got sick of doing the extra load of laundry (I'm a terrible hippie).

Less hardcore things:
Joined organic CSA (far cheaper than buying the same amount of organic local produce at the store)
Avoid plastics when possible. I've found that glass food storage containers last a lot longer than plastic even though they are more expensive up front, and carrying a glass water bottle with tap water eliminates the temptation to buy drinks or water packaged in plastic bottles.
Keep an organic yard. We do not fertilize or use any herbicides or insecticides in our yard. Sure our grass isn't that perfect uniform green, but it grows fine and still looks pretty good for being 100% au natural.
Clean with vinegar and baking soda - no chemical cleansers. Cheap and very safe.

My friend keeps a bucket in his shower and uses the excess water on his plants.

Thanks all.

I also remember that if you let pine cones out in the elements long enough, they disintegrate and look like mulch.

I have just started this.
