Car Insurance?
« on: January 07, 2019, 01:04:16 PM »
Hey all,

Was curious if you know/think I'm paying way too much for car insurance based on a few factors. I'll list out the details:

Location: Orange County, Southern California
Car: Toyota Rav4 2009
Current Mileage: 109k~
Miles estimated driven per year: 10k
Number or drivers: 2
Insurance Carrier: Geico
6mo present term cost: $414
Bodily Injury Liability: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence (State Minimum: $15,000 per person/$30,000 per occurrence)
Property Damage Liability: $100,000 per occurrence (State Minimum: $5,000 per occurrence)
Medical Payments: $2,000 per person
Uninsured/underinsured Motorist: $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence
Comprehensive: Deductible: $250
Collision: $500 Ded./Waiver

Discounts:
California Good Driver?: my wife's name shows
Subclass Factor?:  Subclass A - 2009 TOYOTA RAV4
Group Insurance Plan?: $93.40 Professional Group Insurance Plan
California Persistency?: California Persistency
Anti-Theft Device?: 2009 TOYOTA RAV4 - Passive Disabling Devices
Passive Restraint?:2009 TOYOTA RAV4 - Full Front Air Bag

The next bill I think may be around the same or more. Last year (actually back in 2017) we went from two cars to one but the total amount paid for the entire year was maybe around $800. We did increase, mid-year, the number of estimated miles driven from 4k to 10k since we were down to one car and anticipated driving a bit more.

Anyone see any opportunities here to find a lower rate?

We haven't been in any accidents either.
