Canadians: Best source for a used, but current phone?
« on: July 30, 2021, 10:59:28 AM »
Hey folks,

I want to start with public mobile, and I want to bring my own phone, but I'm having a hard time finding a newer, current model used phone. I'm not comfortable with kijiji/craigslist since there are a lot of scams/thefts going on with that right now in my area, and I am not sure which online sources are reputable and safe.

The used phones available direct from Public aren't as good as I would hope, so I'm looking for other sources.

Has anyone in the GTA recently had a good experience with buying a used phone? Where did you get it?

I'm not in the GTA, but I got my used phone from a friend who was upgrading.  Just put the word out and someone you know might be happy to have an excuse for a new phone!

I've bought multiple refurbished cells from AZ Wireless for around 200 to 300 dollars. I believe they are in Ottawa but will do shipping. Good luck!

We just recently picked up two brand new but open box Samsung S10e phones (2019) from the Best Buy marketplace site (one came from Toronto Cellular, the other from Gadget Source.) Both turned up in great condition and we have not had any issues. Nicest phones we have ever owned, and it is nice to have some newer technology!

I just switched to public, want a referral code? 407VEO We both win.

My last phone was from amazon. They have lots of used and refurbished options. I like that I can return something if it doesn't work, whereas the return policy on kijiji isn't so great.
Best buy also has used/ refurbished.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
