How I've bought my last 3 or 4 cell phones;
Google search "best value cell phone {last yr}"
I read a few of the results to find a phone that has the features I want & need - like a replaceable battery & FM radio.
Then google "site:www/amazon.com {phone model name} refurbished"
As for who needs a cell phone these days... anyone that is paying for a home landline / phone is a $ucker. Cheap and free cellphone plans abound.
I ported my home/landline # to RedPocket for $11($12?) for 3 mo's on an old phone.
I really like having a separate # to give business' etc. The phone never leaves my computer desk. I almost never answer calls to it. Many Co's (like Drs) are texting now.
When the phone actually dies, I'll port the # to FreedomPop for $0/mo.
