Anyone do Peer to peer car renting?
« on: February 19, 2013, 02:49:31 AM »
Seeing how a lot of people ride bikes to cut costs but haven't completely cut out having a car. Just checking if anyone uses any of the car sharing programs around? I'm not doing it right now but I may be buying a new (used) car in the next few years, and instead of trading it in like I was planning, might keep it around for car renting purposes. And if it gets too bad off, I can "total" it instead of having repair work done on it.

plus estimating $8/hour rate, I could have a $2000 car paid off in 250 rented hours. Not that I try starting a business out of this, but it makes it tempting to try it with a used car instead of trading it in.

I'm probably going to sign up for RelayRides this spring/summer.  I expect the availability of my car is going to vary depending on how warm it is and how willing I am to bike, but I might be able to make a few bucks.
