Building a deck (book recommendations)
« on: March 06, 2016, 07:54:27 PM »
Last fall the gf demo'd a deck in the yard. We will be rebuilding it soon now that the weather is improving. I've found some decent webpages about deck building. I have written out materials and a build sheet and have the general "gist", but I'd like a step by step reference whether book or webpages. Kind of like how a Chilton will tell you how to replace an alternator step by step.
I'll be having a good friend, a carpenter, helping but I'd like to be totally knowledgeable about every step.
Any suggestions?

I recommend you watch some YouTube videos on deck building too. Check out the book section at your local homedepot or lowes, good selection of how to books.
But better yet save some $ and see if your library has any. I have a deck book by Sunset books that is pretty good.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
