Bike touring in Ontario
« on: June 25, 2017, 06:37:10 PM »
Hey, I'm thinking of doing a solo ride from Toronto to Ottawa at the end of July.  I'm aiming for 3 - 4 days at around 100 km a day, and am currently debating if I want to do the camping thing or hotel it.  Anyone have any tips for bike touring in Ontario (particularly regarding that trip alignment)?  Looking for ideas regarding rest stops, places with showers, cheap places to stay, etc.

I don't have input but am posting to follow. I have been interested in bike touring but never did it.

Is this your first tour, or do you have other experience?

It's kinda a first little mini tour to see if I dig it.  I did a two day thing (one day from Toronto up to Barrie and one day back) last year, but stayed with family rather camping/finding lodgings.  It was a lot of fun though.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
