bicycle spoke adjustment
« on: May 01, 2016, 07:33:41 PM »
My bicycle felt like the rear tire was low on air, but the gauge said 95 psi.  It was also making a squeaking sound that I initially thought was tire rubbing the fender.  Since I had good pressure and no evidence of rubbing, I popped out and got a spoke wrench.  I didn't want to ride a questionable bicycle, and it was 75* and sunny, so I took the Kawasaki to a cycle shop in a town about 2 hours down some twisty roads.

Anyhow, I tightened the spokes and it rides fine now.  My question is, did I do it right?  Is there a special trick to tightening spokes?  I took them to about a two finger snug, but not tight.

+1. Spokes are never just tightened just because they might be loose. Instead, you true your wheel.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
