Best site to sell clothes
« on: March 23, 2024, 07:11:02 AM »
I have some quality brand clothing that is in great condition but I don't love.  I thought I would try to sell it on Thred Up - anyone sold clothes on this site before?  Or is Ebay better?  Or???

Poshmark?  Facebook Marketplace?

I've sold a few things on Ebay - mostly jackets (easier for me to manage because at the time I was selling lots of other items on eBay).

I have no idea which is best.

I have had very good luck with Poshmark. I've sold about $600 worth of clothes, shoes, etc. Check the sales history of what you are selling before pricing and take good pictures.

ThredUp stinks for value as a seller but is definitely easiest. As a buyer, I like Depop and EBay. Poshmark is okay too but they have burned me once or twice as a seller.

I would love to hear this too - I've bought off there a few times, and was considering trying to sell something soonish.

I've sold a few things on there -- I think I have like eight listings? And I've sold like four of them. These are things that are in good shape and just high enough quality that I felt like trying to sell them for a little cash instead of donating them was a good idea. I haven't been burned as a seller, and I'm having trouble trying to imagine what that would look like, so I'm curious.

@Kris @Raenia

Nothing exciting, they just have poor address validation so I had a $200 winter coat I was really happy to have sold returned to me over a month after I packed and shipped it. Ended up having to sell it for much less in the summertime instead. They are supposed to have "seller protection" against issues like that but they are super stingy with customer service these days despite having pretty steep sales fees.

Oh, that does suck. Thanks for replying about it.

Facebook is a good place to sell clothes and other stuff. You will find a buyer most of the time. I bought and sold a lot of things there. My wife also bought a lot of dresses there, you can find Dresses for different body types.
