Best place to buy used car
« on: March 21, 2024, 03:10:25 PM »
Hello! My car is 21 years old and the engine is great but other features are starting to fault and I would have to start replacing them which is very costly, so I am considering getting a new car. I would like to buy a used car that is in great condition with low miles on it and well taken care of. The dream, right?! Wondering if anyone has recommendations on where to look? Thank you!

Friends, family, friends parents, folks too old to drive?
Older folks often take excellent care of their vehicles, but they usually end up with scraped bumpers (or worse) eventually.

Facebook marketplace.

I’ve bought three vehicles from Marketplace in the last 4 years, I just keep finding deals I can’t pass up. It takes a lot of patience, so it’s not ideal if you need a car right away, but if you have some cash on hand and know you might be in the market in the coming months it can really pay to watch marketplace like a hawk for deals to come up.  Just watch out for the scammers trying to get you to send a deposit lol

Yes, all the volume has moved to FB Marketplace. You might also find a deal on Nextdoor, but much less likely. A good sign that an ad is set up by a scammer is if they set up their account this year and the price is too good to be true. That said, there are actually great deals there, mixed in with the people who think their 30 year old broken down junk is worth $3k.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
