Title: Best Credit Card to Get
Post by: Donna on July 12, 2014, 02:34:38 PM
I am looking for a new credit card to receive rewards/cash back.  I spend $2000 to $3000 monthly and pay off balance each month.  I currently have Citi Easy Deals, so I have to buy something to get the reward.

Which country?

Sigh :)

There are loads of good ones in the US. Depends what you spend on.

BofA Cash Rewards is good, Amex Blue Cash Preferred is good if your grocery store accepts Amex and you spend enough there. Quicksilver (Cap One IIRC) is straight up 1.5% on everything, if you just want the one card. Barclays do a travel one that has a nice intro bonus and 2.2% effective if you use it to travel.

Thank you.  This was my first question and I will get better with more detail in the next question.  Since I am paying for my kids college tuitions I think Cash Back is the best route.  Thanks for your answer.

No worries!

There is a Sally Mae (Barclaycard) - 5% back on the first $250 of gas, and the first $750 of books a month - inc. Amazon. Pretty good deal.

But yeah if you are paying tuition on a card, highest flat % cashback probably. Quicksilver is probably a good one.

Try FatWallet Forums -> Finance. They are a lot more into the specifics there.

Here, the schools charge 3% or more to use a cc for tuition.

You may be better off to pay cash directly.  Ask.
