Backdoor RothIRA contribution on TD Ameritrade
« on: April 02, 2021, 07:59:22 AM »
Good morning,
I wanted to ask about mechanics of doing backdoor ROTH IRA contribution on TD.
I have set up traditional IRA and transferred 6K cash to the account.
I have existing RothIRA account that I want to do backdoor contribution for 2021.

Question for TD Ameritrade account holders who have done such transaction:

-Do I simply do 'internal transfer' from traditional IRA account to Roth IRA account?

Thank you :-)

I do this every year, and I have to figure it out... every year.  There is actually a rollover form that I have to fill out, print, sign, and send to a physical address in Nebraska.  Vanguard (DW's Roth) is wayyyy easier - all electronic and online.  Good luck!
