AT&T Go Phone?
« on: August 12, 2015, 05:22:17 PM »
My gf and I were recently looking at switching to Metro PCS for their $40 a month plans to save money. Turned out the reviews were awful, so she went and got a new iPhone and stayed on her expensive plan though her company pays for it.

Technically my company could pay for it but I'm still warming up to that, since it is awkward asking for tuition and cell reimbursement when you make 150K a year with a good health insurance plan and immediate vesting in the 401K.

Anyways, while we were at the store I saw a Nokia Lumina 640 Windows phone for $80, and I can get an unlimited everything plan with data for $40 a month on the go plan, no contracts.

It's the same network as their regular plans so no service difference, and the phone looks fine. Any better options than this? I don't want to have poorer service, as I like having service when I got camping, hiking, etc.

The AT&T network without roaming is the AT&T network without roaming. Coverage will be identical between all AT&T only MVNOs.

There's far better priced options though. Read the guide for details.

Short list will be Airvoice, PureTalk USA, H2O Wireless, and Consumer Cellular if you want T-Mobile roaming on top of AT&T coverage.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
