Are "naked parties" a thing? (aimed at lady mustachians)
« on: September 12, 2015, 02:57:16 PM »
I heard about this last weekend while hanging out with my gf and some of her friends. When I heard the term my ears perked up and I had to ask what they were talking about. Sadly it was not what I thought, but actually seemed like a pretty neat idea.

Apparently they all get together once a year and bring all the clothes that they do not want anymore and throw them all into a pile in the middle of the room. A lot of mimosas and/or wine is consumed and everyone tries on all the discarded clothes and they essentially have a draft where each of them picks what they want and at the end the rejects that nobody wants are donated to good will. Seems like a win win to me. Everyone gets drunk, gets rid of old clothes, gets "new" clothes, and the rest goes to other people that need it.

I just wear my clothes till they get holes and get new ones but is this something that girls do on the regular?

We usually call those clothing swaps.  I've been to a few, and they're great.  Naked parties are a different thing.

I've been to a few "no-pants" parties, and one "no-clothing" party that was kind of like a costume party where you were allowed to wear anything EXCEPT clothing.

Naked parties are usually a more private affair.  Like I wouldn't send out invites.

I've been to one. I got a couple of things I still wear.

We called it a clothing swap, though there were a lot 20-somethings running around in their bras drinking wine. No pillow fights, though.

I've been to one and they called it a "Naked Lady Party".  And I've heard of some guy friends having a "Naked Dude Party".  Nothing too risque, just swapping clothes.

Agree with everyone else. Those are "clothing swaps" not "naked parties". Methinks your friend was talking about actual naked parties and then fibbed to cover it up.

Yea we used to have a regular clothing swap. Was great I got lots of good stuff. Especially after I lost weight and changed sizes it was a big help. Naked is misleading, we just brought the clothes to swap and the wine....

I went to one of these and it was a lot of fun. I was able to trade in some clothes I was bored with and leave with "new" stuff. Despite the silly name no one was naked or drunk.

no one was naked or drunk.

Mayhaps we need to review the definition of the word "party" before continuing.

Re: topic, yes, I regularly attend clothes swaps, but we don't call them 'naked party' and there is no alcohol involved. Yet.
