Frugal internet providers in Seattle?
« on: January 29, 2015, 08:06:28 PM »
I have to set up Internet in my Seattle rental (house) and all the big companies get horrible reviews. Sadly, the cool small local companies aren't doing individual homes (yet).

Has anybody found a frugal Internet provider in Seattle?

Thanks for your help!

I'm interested as well.

We currently have Century Link and have been fine with the service. We don't do a ton of streaming or downloading so the speed is fine for us and I honestly don't notice how fast or slow it is. We were on a 12 month contract and paid ~$31/mo after taxes and fees and it recently went up to ~$51/mo. We're not looking to get into another contract since we may be moving.

I use Comcast. Works fine, costs more than it should. Both of the big companies will gouge you if you only want to buy internet access instead of bundling with cable TV (Comcast) or a landline phone (CenturyLink). CenturyLink is rolling out gigabit fiber service in large parts of the city, but it looks to be almost double the price of my existing service that is faster than I need.

Thanks for the tips! I just wish CascadeLink served single family homes. Sadly, a big uncaring company it'll have to be. Sigh...

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
