I'm wanting to cut cable, as soon as my cheap deal ends (December), as currently I'm getting a DVR and 3 tv's covered for $14 more/month than hulu and netflix accounts. I know I should switch now, but it seems like a fair value at the moment. My question though is does anyone have any luck with a slingbox? http://www.slingbox.com/get/countrySelect?page=/go/home My parents have an extra TV that is used maybe twice a year, that I'd like to hook it to, so I can just get all my sports, TV through that. It seems like a great xmas present for myself to cut cable forever, plus I'll be able to watch my teams (Tigers, Lions and Buckeyes) out of market, as I currently live 4 states away.
I don't want to pull the trigger on a slingbox though if they don't work. I've seen varied reviews and don't know what to think. So in short, is a slingbox a good value pick up to end a monthly recurring cost?

My sister has it, it works awesome - so if your family doesn't mind you mooching then definitely go for it.

I've heard good things.
If your parents don't mind, and you both have good Internet connections, it should work fine.

My dad has one and likes it. He uses it to watch tv on the road with his iPhone.
