Despite embracing Mustachianism, I do enjoy going to the movies once in a while with friends, especially during the summer blockbuster season. I know that the most Mustachian way to handle this is to wait for things to come out on DVD and borrow them from the library or wait for them to come onto Netflix, but there's nothing like going with a group of friends to see the latest sci-fi flick on the big screen.
What I've been doing to go to the movies a few times a year for free is using Social Rewards and saving up My Coke Rewards points. Social Rewards is free and you get points for watching YouTube clips or sharing links on social media accounts that can be redeemed with different small regional movie theatre chains in the USA for concessions and movie tickets. It takes a lot of points to get a free movie ticket, but it's completely free, so I feel it's worth a couple minutes of my time per day.
I don't drink a lot of soda, because it's expensive and anti-Mustachian, but I have friends and relatives save up their bottle caps and codes from multi-packs to give me, so I can redeem them for movie tickets at big chain movie theatres on My Coke Rewards. I generally get a couple free movie tickets per year doing this, which sometimes even include free concessions vouchers.
Anybody else have any good movie ticket hacks to share?
