Title: Amount of Emergency Fund and where to hold it

I realize that there is probably some personal preference regarding this topic, but I am wondering how various mustachians determine how much of an emergency fund they need, and where they keep the money.

I feel like I would rather either invest mine in the market, or sink it all into my student loan.  It frustrates me to just have it sitting in a savings account earning basically nothing.
