Am i over thinking this?

I invested 60K in vtsax 3 days before the 2% drop on friday and the 4% drop today. I'm kind of pissed and can't help but think "if only I had waited for a couple of more days, or DCA'ed.

Any advice on how to make myself feel better?

Nope, prepare for another 10%+ drop.

Continue buying, and enjoy the sale. Are you about to retire? If not then accumulating stocks at a lower price is a good thing.

Its also a great gut check for you. If you can't handle the risk, you may want to invest in something more conservative. Don't feel too bad. It shaved $4k off my NW and I'm sure it did much more to some of our more veteran community members here.

Not retiring any time soon and not worried about it dropping 10% or 20% more, just pissed that my timing with a bulk purchase was so horribly wrong.

You are overthinking. 

I re-balanced to a more aggressive mix last month because of some changes in our circumstances.  As a result, we're eating a bigger loss that we otherwise would have, had I 1) waited for an obvious correction; or 2) just stuck to our original allocation. But whatever...I needed to re-balance at some point, and shit happens.  I'm prepared to lose up to 30% of our net worth on paper during a correction.  It's not fun, but it's not that big a deal unless you are close to retirement. Just stick to your plan and keep buying on schedule.

We put in 12k Thursday, so you're not alone at least. I laughed at my timing, but I'm over it as my horizon is not good another 20 years. On the plus side, at least you're smart enough to not sell it today!

@doneby35 , you are not alone. I don't like it either and have a tendency to feel anxious about it. But as it is out of our control, just lean back and let it grow back again.

Our stash is 80% in mortgage free property and 20% in index funds. Would this be the perfect time to take up a mortgage to buy more stock? I guess, if we would have the stomach to start investing with borrowed money, then yes.

This is a minor bump on the road.  I'm sure it will get worse at some point, so hang in there.  It's never fun to see your money go the wrong direction, just keep putting money in every time you get a chance.

My first market crash was Oct 1987, a 22+% drop in a single day.

Never sold a share and never regretted staying in the market.  In fact,
buying equities over the next 2 years yielded fabulous returns.

You don't have to look hard to see that blip on the chart, but in
the grand scheme of things it kind of gets lost in a lot of other
blips -- not least the 2009 Great Recession.
