I've been working at the same place since I graduated college in 2008. The company is expanding and growing. I've been promoted. Given more responsibilities. I like my coworkers. I like my boss. What's the problem?
I hate the work and I dread going in every day. My job performance is suffering.
I have neglected looking because I have it in my head I can't make as much elsewhere. Partly that's because I stumbled into my job and never really had to look before and partly because I would like to leave sales and that would mean probably taking a step back. Advice?

That cycle isn't going to last. On the positive side, if you are good at sales you stand a better chance at your own business.

I'd suggest starting to look for other jobs, keep your ear out for other opportunities, that kind of thing.
askamanager.org has a lot of useful info about job hunting (and you'll also find you're not alone in not knowing whether to move to another job or not). Highly recommend reading her blog.
