I'm considering switching from Capital One 360 to Ally, since they have higher interest rates but would like to wait for a sign up bonus. They don't seem to be offering anything right now, has anyone gotten a sign up incentive with Ally?
I think I got $50 for my savings account and $25 for my checking account with capital one 360.

I'm interested in following this.
Why are you considering switching, if I may ask? Is it some other reason than nabbing the bonus?
-
They offer a higher interest rate and otherwise seem similar.

Chase offers $100 signup bonuses somewhat frequently. Citibank does even more but they require you to have like a 10k balance or something ridiculous.

I'm switching just my savings from Capital One 360 to Mango Money. 6% rate on savings for first 5000. I haven't seen anything even close to that.

I need to get in on this. Just got to find 5k...

There are much more profitable bank bonuses here: http://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/ (http://www.doctorofcredit.com/best-bank-account-bonuses/)

I bank with Ally, I've never seen any sort of sign up bonus

Thanks lyngi and johnny847, I guess they don't offer it. Oh well.
Thanks also for the suggestions other made about bonuses, but at first glance they look like too much hassle, I don't want to change again in a few months or deal with any requirements. Just a nice place for my emergency fund to chill out.

I don't park my emergency fund at any of the bank accounts that offer a signup bonus. I get these accounts to get the signup bonus, and close the account as soon as it's allowed without a fee (some banks have an early closure fee). The only money that goes into these accounts is the minimum required to fulfill the DD requirement, and then the minimum required to avoid fees.

that mango account with the high interest is only if you have direct deposit into it (iirc).
otherwise its much much lower.
