50k southwest miles?
« on: May 12, 2017, 06:38:55 AM »
I'd like to take my family of four to TX later this year. Is the 50k Southwest miles offer still available via referral? If not, what is my best best? We do prefer to fly Southwest, that's why I thought of the Southwest card, but I thought the miles offer was by referral only.

50k Chase SW Premier referral:
 https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=FNTD&CELL=63HB&MSC=1528

50k Chase SW Plus referral:
https://applynow.chase.com/FlexAppWeb/renderApp.do?SPID=FNTQ&CELL=63HB&MSC=1530677674

These work great.  My wife and I have enjoyed the companion pass last year and this year.  I highly recommend trying for that if you can get it.

Those both say 40k. I heard the 50k might be gone.

When I grabbed the link from Chase Refer-A-Friend it said it was for 50k.  Weird that the chase portal would tell me 50k when it is 40k but that could certainly be the case.  Certainly appears to be 40k once you click on the link. Sorry about that.  Still not a bad deal, but would be tough to get the companion pass.

Here is a referral link for 60K:

https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/southwest/60KPremierBiz?CELL=637V

It is a business card but you should be able to get approved.

Might be worth signing up for a frequent flyer number if that is the only way to view it, shouldn't take long and will be required with any of the SW credit cards.  If you go to the main site where you type in your origin and destination there is a radio button to select Points instead of Dollars that shows up for me without logging in.  See if that is avaiable for you.

All of my trips out of Louisville have been under 40k, 5 so far on points only.  I'm flying from Louisville, KY to California roundtrip this week and it will be 30k miles.  I'm going from Louisville to Seattle next month for 36k.  One of the great things about booking with points on SW is they are refundable so if the price (in points) drops you simply log in and it will refund you the difference in miles.  I try to check once a week and the prices go down more than you would expect.  That is for flights where I am flying on Mondays and/or Fridays and booked a couple months out.  I checked August  and you could absolutely fly from NY to LA roundtrip for 40k.

Wow, a phone plan for fifteen bucks!
