I found this site and thought it seemed pretty cool.  Has anyone used this site and what is your experience?

https://www.futureadvisor.com/

Or this one

https://www.learnvest.com/

FutureAdvisor will tell you how they would invest your money for free. I have taken a look at their suggested asset allocation for my risk tolerance and think there's a lot of merit to it. I won't pay them to implement the asset allocation, just like I won't pay Betterment or Wealthfront to do the same.

Thank you seattlecyclone,

FutureAdvisor: I put my 401k in and am looking at it, but it doesn't make sense to me that it is picking the right asset allocation because it never asks for my retirement monetary goal.  For instance, how much I need to have invested in order to retire.

It seems to only be able to tell me what the best returns I can get based on the amount of years to retire and give me the type of diversifications.  I guess this is pretty good because I can see how long I will need to invest for to get the best return on my money.  I could probably then use these percentages in another retirement calculator to see how much I will have at the end of the term.  But they should provide this too!  It seems to come up short.

I am going to play with the other website and see what I get.

Ok, I played with Learnvest.com and it is terrible.  Don't waste your time!

It is like a watered down Mint.com and they try to sell you personal finance consultations.  The site just isn't functional as much as Mint.com is.  If you are going to try to create another site like this at least have all the basic features needed.  There is just not enough versatility to be used properly as a finance management website.

When I first started to take control of my finances I signed up for the learnvest emails and I did think they were helpful for a while. It didn't take long to feel like I outgrew them though. If you are seeing the benefits of a simpler, MMM kind of lifestyle, I don't know that you'd get much from learnvest. I now find their emails to be annoying attempts to get my money.
