401k with no employer contribution
« on: October 05, 2016, 11:44:10 AM »
Hi,

I was wondering if it was worth it to start a 401k or not, since my company offers no match for what I put.
I think I can probably put the maximum allowed and still have quite a bit of cash (after all my expenses). What do you think?

Fund your HSA (if you have one) first, then fund your IRA, and only after those are maxed then fund the 401k.

Aside from that, yes, the 401k is worth it because of the money saved on taxes.
